According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through October 9, 2014 were 14.4 million metric tons (MMT), 25 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 19.2 MMT.

Net sales of 454,000 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 22 percent from the previous week, unchanged from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 350,000 to 550,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Nigeria (108,137 HRW), Yemen (97,250 white), Japan (10,949 HRW, 58,710 HRS, 15,408 white), The Philippines (29,500 HRS, 31,244 white), Brazil (34,745 HRW, 20,000 HRS), Algeria (23,100 durum), and Colombia (21,500 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 57 percent of total projected exports, equal to the five-year average of exports committed by this date.
