According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through September 18, 2014 were 12.8 million metric tons (MMT), 27 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 17.7 MMT.

Net sales of 396,300 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 26 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 350,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Brazil (119,500 HRW), Mexico (26,966 HRW, 4,144 HRS, 37,455 SRW), Japan (28,015 HRS, 28,125 white), unknown destinations (-2,800 HRW, 68,800 HRS, -1,400 SRW, -27,500 white, 15,000 durum), The Philippines (900 HRW, -1,475 HRS, 1,000 SRW, 32,886 white), Vietnam (32,383 HRS), and Colombia (304 HRW, 16,271 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 53 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 51 percent of exports committed by this date.
