According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2012/13 marketing year, through May 23, 2013 were 27.1 million metric tons (MMT), 3 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 27.9 MMT.
Net sales reductions of 33,200 MT for delivery in the 2012/2013 marketing year were down noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for Chile (37,472 HRW, 27,378 SRW), Brazil (41,500 HRW), Portugal (13,878 SRW), the Philippines (12,600 white), Algeria (12,017 durum), and Israel (11,610 HRW).
USDA forecasts 2012/13 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.9 MMT.
