According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through April 28, 2016 were 20.1 million metric tons (MMT), 13 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 23.1 MMT.

Net sales of 178,900 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 49 percent from the previous week, but 1 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 0 to 300,000 MT. Increases were primarily for China (61,500 HRS), Mexico (29,042 HRW, -131 HRS, 7,185 SRW), Nigeria (32,205 HRW), Ecuador (6,600 HRW, 21,450 SRW), Japan (14,770 HRW, 1,155 HRS, 12,124 white), Colombia (13,132 HRW, 544 HRS, 10,000 SRW), and Italy (10,276 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 96 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 103 percent.
