According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through May 12, 2016 were 20.6 million metric tons (MMT), 11 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 23.3 MMT.

Net sales of 175,200 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 41 percent from the previous week, and 37 percent lower than the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 0 to 250,000 MT. Increases were primarily for China (88,344 HRS), Japan (18,272 HRW, 904 HRS, 15,212 white), Brazil (28,500 HRW), Italy (14,745 HRS), Philippines (10,320 HRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 97 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 104 percent.
