According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through July 20, 2017 were 9.92 million metric tons (MMT), up 2 percent from last year's year-to-date total of 9.76 MMT and slightly ahead of the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 498,000 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, down 26 percent from the previous week but 5 percent above the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 350,000 to 550,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Taiwan (31,955 HRW, 63,600 HRS, 9,650 white), South Korea (19,640 HRW, 27,754 HRS, 40,755 white), Chile (43,606 HRW, 700 SRW, 22,973 white), the Philippines (15,000 HRW, 20,000 HRS, 7 white), and Mexico (-1,148 HRW, 181 HRS, 29,145 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 38 percent of total projected exports, on par with the 5-year average.
