According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through August 6, 2015 were 8.95 million metric tons (MMT), 16 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 10.7 MMT.

Net sales of 421,600 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were down 50 percent from the previous week and 28 percent from the prior 4-week average and were within trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (7,000 HRW, 20,500 HRS, 82,500 white), Mexico (32,977 HRW, -48 HRS, 45,495 SRW), China (16,000 HRS, 169 SRW, 27,000 white), Italy (2,885 HRS, 40,000 durum), South Korea (5,000 HRW, 11,500 HRS, 15,500 white), and Canada (28,351 HRS, -5 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 36 percent of total projected exports on par with the 5-year average.
