According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2009/10 marketing year, through June 18, 2009, were 4.123 million metric tons (MMT), 52 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 8.580 MMT.

Sales for the period of June 12 to June 18, 2009 were 268 368,300 metric tons were up 37 percent from the previous week. Increases reported for Nigeria (80,648 HRW, 39,001 SRW, 8,000 white), Japan (23,590 HRW, 38,110 HRS, 21,000 white), South Korea (8,880 HRW, 11,980 HRS, 9 SRW, 27,240 white), Brazil (25,000 HRW), Philippines (-1,500 HRW, 1,500 HRS, 20,900 white), Canada (15,895 HRS, 660 white), Mexico (-59 HRW, 5,000 HRS, 9,000 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2009/10 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.490 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 17 percent of total projected exports, down from the 5-year average of 23 percent of exports committed by this date.
