According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through October 2, 2014 were 13.9 million metric tons (MMT), 27 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 19.2 MMT.

Net sales of 372,400 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were down 50 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average and below trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for The Philippines (50,200 HRS, 50,800 white), Taiwan (24,550 HRW, 27,600 HRS, 1,000 SRW, 13,170 white), Egypt (55,000 SRW), Chile (5,329 HRW, 43,999 SRW), Indonesia (49,500 HRS, -1,546 SRW), Brazil (33,736 HRW, 5,050 SRW), and Vietnam (29,700 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 57 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 55 percent of exports committed by this date.
