According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through December 12, 2013 were 23.6 million metric tons (MMT), 34 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 17.7 MMT.

Net sales of 656,100 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 76 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week average and above trade expectations of 300,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (26,240 HRW, 55,701 HRS, 47,505 white), Nigeria (86,000 HRW, 24,000 SRW), Mexico (78,945 HRW, 9,913 HRS, 15,040 SRW), Brazil (50,500 HRW), and South Korea (6,000 HRW, -4,634 HRS, 41,300 white).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 29.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 79 percent of total projected exports, up from the five-year average of 73 percent of exports committed by this date.
