According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2009/10 marketing year, through November 12, 2009, were 14.035 million metric tons (MMT), 30 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 19.972 MMT.

Net sales of 362,400 metric tons were down 12 percent from the previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average, but within trade estimates of 350,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were reported for Philippines (5,080 HRW, 57,800 HRS, 35,700 white), Nigeria (50,250 HRW, 27,658 SRW, 5,580 durum), Taiwan (23,392 HRW, 35,620 HRS, 8,488 white), Japan (5,910 HRW, 28,870 HRS, 320 white), Costa Rica (7,875 HRW, 10,519 HRS, 6,002 SRW, 3,066 durum), Mexico (1,626 HRW, 500 HRS, 21,274 SRW), Colombia (20,026 HRW, 1,000 SRW), Italy (20,000 durum), and Morocco (18,002 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2009/10 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 23.81 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 60 percent below total projected exports, down from the 5-year average of 72 percent of exports committed by this date.
