According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through August 13, 2015 were 9.26 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 10.9 MMT.

Net sales of 314,400 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were down 25 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average, but were within trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (46,445 HRW, 50,513 HRS, 25,992 white), Yemen (47,500 white), Nigeria (30,300 HRW), Canada (24,901 HRS, -13 white), Italy (324 HRS, 22,317 durum), and Mexico (551 HRW, 7,440 HRS, 12,615 SRW, 182 durum).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 36 percent of total projected exports, below the 5-year average of 37 percent.
