According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through June 27, 2013 were 9.16 million metric tons (MMT), 28 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 7.13 MMT.
Net sales of 593,000 MT for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were within trade expectations of 500,000 to 800,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the China (2,800 HRW, 233,750 SRW), Mexico (57,890 HRW, 64,960 SRW), Nigeria (69,256 HRW, 24,000 SRW), Brazil (40,545 HRW, 20,000 SRW), and Ecuador (8,228 HRW, 24,611 SRW).
USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 35 percent of total projected exports, up from the five-year average of 27 percent of exports committed by this date.
