According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through September 17, 2015 were 11.0 million metric tons (MMT), 14 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 12.8 MMT.

Net sales of 282,800 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 25 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 250,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (72,900 HRS, 42,671 white), Japan (46,562 HRW, 48,344 white), China (58,550 HRS, 1,138 white), Colombia (3,801 HRW, 34,712 SRW), Jamaica (36,000 HRS), and Mexico (10,870 HRW, 17,838 HRS, 2,281 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 45 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 53 percent.
