According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through September 14, 2017 were 13.1 million metric tons (MMT), 3 percent behind last year's year-to-date total and 4 percent behind the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 307,200 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, down 3 percent from the previous week and 24 percent below the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (1,355 HRW, 39,932 HRS, 36,600 white), Mexico (17,395 HRW, 7,400 HRS, 30,000 SRW), Kenya (41,114 HRW), Japan (8,000 HRW, 23,960 HRS, 745 white), and Angola (27,500 HRW).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 48 percent of total projected exports, slightly behind the 5-year average of 53 percent.
