According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2010/11 marketing year, through March 17, 2011 were 33.111 million metric tons (MMT), 60 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 20.678 MMT.

Net sales of 659,700 MT for the 2010/11 marketing year were down 1 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average, and within trade estimates of 500,000 to 800,000 MT. Increases were reported for Nigeria (134,900 HRW, 43 HRS, 16,114 SRW, -8,838 white, 7,831 durum), Egypt (66,750 HRW, 10,000 SRW, 40,000 white), China (90,000 HRS, 6,000 SRW, 20,000 white), South Korea (12,600 HRW, 26,107 HRS, 1,738 SRW, 38,570 white), Colombia (14,133 HRW, 12,500 HRS, 31,678 SRW), and Turkey (50,000 HRW). Net sales of 86,000 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly for Brazil (25,000 HRW), South Korea (5,300 HRW, 7,900 HRS, 9,800 white), and Algeria (20,000 durum).

USDA forecasts 2010/11 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 34.70 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 96 percent of total projected exports, down from the five-year average of 97 percent of exports committed by this date.
