According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through September 25, 2014 were 13.6 million metric tons (MMT), 27 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 18.5 MMT.

Net sales of 741,000 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 92 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average and exceeded trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Nigeria (186,276 HRW, 55,000 SRW), Vietnam (61,500 HRS, 3,000 white), Ecuador (54,500 SRW), unknown destinations (92,600 HRW, -43,925 HRS, -52,200 SRW, 36,700 white, 20,000 durum), Italy (45,276 HRS), Mexico (12,980 HRW, -1,040 HRS, 29,038 SRW), and Venezuela (20,000 HRW, 20,000 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 56 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 53 percent of exports committed by this date.
