According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through September 4, 2014 were 12.1 million metric tons (MMT), 26 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 16.4 MMT.

Net sales of 690,200 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average and above trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Taiwan (31,350 HRW, 54,660 HRS, 42 SRW, 13,400 white), Malaysia (68,600 HRS, 24,700 white), The Philippines (5,000 HRW, 50,000 HRS, 36,526 white), Nigeria (80,000 HRW), South Korea (500 HRS, 51,900 white), Chile (6,810 HRW, 40,440 white), and Colombia (8,000 HRW, 37,749 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 48 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 47 percent of exports committed by this date.
