According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through October 23, 2014 were 15.1 million metric tons (MMT), 21 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 19.2 MMT.

Net sales of 444,900 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 49 percent from the previous week, but down 5 percent from the prior 4-week average and exceeded trade expectations of 300,000 to 375,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (30,830 HRW, 32,795 HRS, 24,620 white), Mexico (23,562 HRW, 2,110 HRS, 31,665 SRW), Brazil (50,650 HRW, 5,499 SRW), The Philippines (4,000 HRW, 33,088 HRS, 17,000 white), unknown destinations (44,000 HRW, 16,880 HRS, 15,000 white, -25,000 durum), Italy (14,090 HRS, 29,750 durum), and South Korea (6,100 HRW, 10,810 HRS, -116 SRW, 12,140 white).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 60 percent of total projected exports, equal to the five-year average of exports committed by this date.
