According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through January 16, 2014 were 25.3 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 20.4 MMT.

Net sales of 421,400 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 32 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 300,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Brazil (112,500 HRW), Japan (21,731 HRW, 61,841 HRS), Nigeria (23,538 HRW, 32,100 SRW), Colombia (16,500 HRW, 20,000 HRS), and the Philippines (18,000 HRS, 16,500 white).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 30.6 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 83 percent of total projected exports, up from the five-year average of 81 percent of exports committed by this date.
