According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through November 12, 2015 were 13.8 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 16.1 MMT.

Net sales of 721,900 MT for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average, and well above trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Thailand (22,000 HRW, 38,500 HRS, 47,500 white), Nigeria (103,100 HRW), Taiwan (29,100 HRW, 53,100 HRS, 9,800 white), Japan (11,471 HRW, 56,051 HRS, 23,084 white) and the Philippines (10,100 HRW, 43,624 HRS, 26,066 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 64 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 66 percent.
