According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through July 27, 2017 were 10.1 million metric tons (MMT), on par with last year's year-to-date total but 3 percent behind the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 145,500 metric tons (MT) — a marketing year low — were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, down 71 percent from the previous week and 69 percent below the prior 4-week average. Sales were below trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 38 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 40 percent.
