According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2016/17 marketing year, through October 27, 2016 were 16.3 million metric tons (MMT), 27 percent higher than last year's year-to-date total of 12.8 MMT.

Net sales of 234,900 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2016/17 were down 64 percent from the previous week, and 54 percent lower than the prior 4-week average. Sales were above trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Mexico (141,510 HRW, 5,069 SRW, -4,918 white), the Philippines (53,120 HRS, 24,749 white), Venezuela (30,000 HRS), Colombia (300 HRW, 12,250 SRW), Honduras (7,000 HRS, 4,500 SRW), Morocco (10,133 HRS), and Singapore (10,000 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2016/17 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 62 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 64 percent.
