According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through October 24, 2013 were 20.5 million metric tons (MMT), 39 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 14.7 MMT.

Net sales of 1,308,800 MT** for delivery in the 2013/2014 marketing year were below trade expectations of 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Brazil (382,405 HRW, 10,900 SRW), unknown destinations (43,100 HRW, 122,400 HRS, -12,100 SRW, 28,500 white), the Philippines (919 HRW, 67,059 HRS, 64,298 white), Nigeria (91,549 HRW, 30,354 SRW), Japan (-822 HRW, 27,174 HRS, 71,160 white), South Korea (14,870 HRW, 22,380 HRS, 42,850 white), and Mexico (15,083 HRW, 5,191 HRS, 13,063 SRW, 32,885 white).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 29.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 69 percent of total projected exports, up from the five-year average of 61 percent of exports committed by this date.
