According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through January 1, 2015 were 18.6 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 24.6 MMT.

Net sales of 151,000 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year--a marketing-year low--were down 57 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average and below trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (89,083 HRS, 78,168 SRW, 34,101 white), Iraq (50,000 HRS), Japan (1,194 HRW, 2,165 HRS, 24,363 white, 600 durum), Mexico (11,145 HRW, 2,225 SRW), and Honduras (3,100 HRW, 4,150 HRS, 530 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 74 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 76 percent of exports committed by this date.
