According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through March 10, 2016 were 18.6 million metric tons (MMT), 18 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 22.6 MMT.

Net sales of 212,900 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 36 percent from the previous week, and 35 percent lower than the prior 4-week average. Sales were below trade expectations of 250,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for China (100,000 HRS), the Philippines (28,000 HRS, 39,000 white), Indonesia (65,000 HRW, -2 HRS), Guatemala (20,000 HRW, 22,525 HRS, 2,651 SRW, 12,400 white, 3,000 durum), Malaysia (18,900 HRS, 6,399 white), and Mexico (11,691 HRW, 9,689 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 89 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 96 percent.
