According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2010/11 marketing year, through May 12, 2011 were 35.406 million metric tons (MMT), 57 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 22.518 MMT.

Net sales of 126,700 MT for the 2010/11 marketing year were down 61 percent from the previous week and 49 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Iraq (102,470 HRW, 47,530 HRS), Nigeria (140,066 HRW), Yemen (28,000 HRW, 99,778 white), Chile (17,283 HRW, 6,600 HRS, 19,017 white), Spain (26,217 SRW), Lebanon (25,000 HRW), Ecuador (9,751 HRW, 13,200 SRW), and South Africa (21,077 HRW). Net sales of 672,200 MT for delivery in 2011/2012 were mainly for unknown destinations (83,850 HRW, 55,000 HRS, 47,350 white, 2,400 durum), Mexico (41,585 HRW, 31,840 HRS, 33,750 SRW, 11,839 white), Malaysia (16,000 HRW, 74,517 HRS, 10,000 white), and Peru (95,000 HRW, 4,966 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2010/11 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 34.70 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 102 percent of total projected exports, down from the five-year average of 104 percent of exports committed by this date.
