According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through December 10, 2015 were 15.0 million metric tons (MMT), 16 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 17.8 MMT.

Net sales of 320,200 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 42 percent from the previous week, but down 22 percent than the prior 4-week average, and within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Taiwan (39,728 HRW, 76,210 HRS, 20,090 white), Japan (26,108 HRW, 12,300 HRS, 46,351 white), Nigeria (61,620 HRW), Brazil (26,250 HRW, -5,000 SRW), Italy (90 HRS, 20,000 durum), Mexico (7,844 HRW, 10,900 SRW), and Colombia (6,710 HRW, 1,707 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 69 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 74 percent.
