According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through November 30, 2017 were 17.5 million metric tons (MMT), 10 percent behind last year's year-to-date total of 19.4 MMT and 4 percent behind the 5-year average.

Net sales of 321,400 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, up 74 percent from the previous week but 22 percent below the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Unknown Destinations (64,800 HRW, -18,500 HRS, 23,500 SRW), Japan (22,400 HRW, 24,728 HRS, 15,922 white, 4 durum), Taiwan (30,413 HRW, 282 HRS, 5,553 white), Mexico (33,944 HRW, 500 SRW), and Morocco (30,000 HRW).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 65 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 72 percent.
