According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through July 30, 2015 were 8.52 million metric tons (MMT), 17 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 10.3 MMT.

Net sales of 838,500 metric tons--a marketing-year high--for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up 20 percent from the previous week and 82 percent from the prior 4-week average and were above trade expectations of 400,000 to 600,000 MT. Increases were primarily for unknown destinations (92,510 HRW, 157,800 HRS, 27,500 SRW, 110,770 white, 6,000 durum), the Dominican Republic (35,700 HRW, 19,400 HRS, 25,900 SRW), Japan (39,987 HRW, 630 HRS, 30,351 white), the Philippines (28,000 HRS, 33,000 white), and Yemen (47,250 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 33 percent of total projected exports, below the 5-year average of 38 percent.
