According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through October 15, 2015 were 12.2 million metric tons (MMT), 17 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 14.7 MMT.

Net sales of 357,500 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 29 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (19,100 HRW, 66,617 HRS, 48,150 white), South Korea (7,600 HRW, 15,000 HRS, 16,403 white), Mexico (19,842 HRW, 96 HRS, 10,832 SRW), Japan (11,770 HRW, 760 HRS, 12,965 white), and Chile (22,100 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 50 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 59 percent.
