According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through August 21, 2014 were 11.3 million metric tons (MMT), 26 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 15.2 MMT.

Net sales of 403,600 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 94 percent from the previous week, but down 17 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Brazil (94,000 HRW), Nigeria (93,107 HRW, 635 SRW), Japan (20,480 HRW, 31,421 HRS, 37,885 white, 17 durum), Colombia (9,777 HRW, 32,103 SRW), The Philippines (3,511 HRS, -4,095 SRW, 23,740 white), and Honduras (5,500 HRW, 7,000 HRS, 3,100 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 45 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 43 percent of exports committed by this date.
