According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through November 2, 2017 were 16.3 million metric tons (MMT), 5 percent behind last year's year-to-date total and 4 percent behind the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 781.7 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18, were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average. Sales were above trade expectations of 350,000 to 550,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Iraq (450 TMT), Taiwan (87.4 TMT), China (60.0 TMT), the Philippines (55.5 TMT), Nigeria (40.0 TMT), and Vietnam (39.7 TMT).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 60 percent of total projected exports.
