According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through March 24, 2016 were 19.2 million metric tons (MMT), 16 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 22.9 MMT.

Net sales of 317,200 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were down 14 percent from the previous week, and 1 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were above trade expectations of 150,000 to 350,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (36,000 HRS, 19,000 white), Thailand (6,550 HRW, 25,000 HRS, 15,500 white), Mexico (30,579 HRW, 688 HRS, 13,718 SRW), Japan (40,669 HRS), China (30,000 HRS, 500 white), and Nigeria (-25,800 HRW, 2,700 HRS, 48,000 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 92 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 99 percent.
