According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through August 7, 2014 were 10.7 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 14.1 MMT.

Net sales of 338,700 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were down 43 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average and below trade expectations of 450,000 to 650,000 MT. Increases were primarily for unknown destinations (23,000 HRW, 7,200 HRS, -400 SRW, 39,144 white), Brazil (58,960 HRW), Mexico (32,673 HRW, 597 HRS, 18,633 SRW, -28 durum), Dominican Republic (13,000 HRW, 14,000 HRS, 10,000 SRW), Japan (10,057 HRW, 8,366 HRS, 13,724 white), and Guatemala (11,967 HRW, 5,250 HRS, 4,384 white, 121 durum).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 42 percent of total projected exports, above the five-year average of 38 percent of exports committed by this date.
