According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through January 7, 2016 were 16.1 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 18.9 MMT.

Net sales of 274,700 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 150,000 to 350,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (9,200 HRW, 93,500 HRS, 56,183 white), Italy (85 HRS, 30,000 durum), Ecuador (27,499 SRW), Malaysia (14,000 HRS, 13,000 white), Cyprus (23,816 SRW), and the Dominican Republic (1,500 HRW, 6,500 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 74 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 79 percent.
