According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through December 17, 2015 were 15.4 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 18.1 MMT.

Net sales of 370,300 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 16 percent from the previous week, and 19 percent higher than the prior 4-week average, and within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (37,885 HRW, 34,935 HRS, 21,980 white), Mexico (89,764 HRW, -1,903 SRW), Nigeria (54,728 HRW), Yemen (47,250 white), Guatemala (16,691 HRW, 5,860 HRS, 4,885 SRW, 6,975 white), Ecuador (20,000 SRW), and Colombia (13,400 HRW, 5,797 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.8 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 71 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 76 percent.
