According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2016/17 marketing year, through November 24, 2016 were 18.9 million metric tons (MMT), 30 percent higher than last year's year-to-date total of 14.5 MMT.

Net sales of 483,500 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2016/17 were down 32 percent from the previous week, and 16 percent lower than the prior 4-week average. Sales were in line with trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Indonesia (60,000 HRW, 70,000 HRS, 10,000 white), Mexico (31,889 HRW, 22,050 HRS, 32,585 SRW), South Korea (7,400 HRW, 11,827 HRS, 42,500 white), China (30,000 HRS, 30,000 white), and Bangladesh (55,000 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2016/17 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 26.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 72 percent of total projected exports, ahead of the 5-year average of 70 percent.
