According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through February 27, 2014 were 28.6 million metric tons (MMT), 23 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 23.3 MMT.

Net sales of 556,100 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 52 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average and above trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Mexico (93,347 HRW, 28,599 HRS, 91,116 SRW), Brazil (88,084 HRW, 5,000 SRW), unknown destinations (37,600 HRW, 33,500 HRS, -7,500 white), China (60,000 HRS), Taiwan (14,976 HRW, 27,710 HRS, 10,683 white), Chile (15,400 HRW, 23,100 white), and Vietnam (21,135 HRS, 9,738 white).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 32.0 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 90 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 92 percent of exports committed by this date.
