According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2013/14 marketing year, through December 5, 2013 were 23.0 million metric tons (MMT), 35 percent greater than last year's year-to-date total of 17.0 MMT.

Net sales of 372,200 MT for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were up 62 percent from the previous week, but down 12 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Nigeria (87,000 HRW, 8,000 SRW), Brazil (54,503 HRW), Mexico (21,005 HRW, 30,725 SRW), Japan (22,384 HRW, 24,225 HRS, 609 white), and Taiwan (44,200 HRS).

USDA forecasts 2013/14 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 29.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 77 percent of total projected exports, up from the five-year average of 71 percent of exports committed by this date.
