According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through October 22, 2015 were 12.8 million metric tons (MMT), 16 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 15.1 MMT.

Net sales of 550,300 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 54 percent from the previous week, and up 34 percent from the prior 4-week average and just above trade expectations of 350,000 to 550,000 MT. Increases were primarily for South Korea (18,120 HRW, 26,476 HRS, 653 SRW, 51,279 white), the Philippines (8,000 HRW, 66,567 HRS, 17,000 white), Thailand (5,000 HRW, 48,784 HRS, 22,003 white), Mexico (32,074 HRW, 8,115 HRS, 18,990 SRW), and Nigeria (41,000 HRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 23.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 55 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 62 percent.
