According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through December 4, 2014 were 17.4 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 23.0 MMT.

Net sales of 442,300 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 39 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (34,020 HRW, 63,671 HRS, 24,700 white), The Philippines (9,000 HRW, 30,000 HRS, 25,648 white), Italy (13,329 HRS, 49,379 durum), Colombia (55,000 HRW, 100 SRW), Mexico (37,274 HRW, 10,955 HRS, 1,919 SRW, 453 durum), and South Korea (-1,109 HRW, 313 HRS, 30,947 white).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 68 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 69 percent of exports committed by this date.
