According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through December 25, 2014 were 18.5 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 24.5 MMT.

Net sales of 354,100 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 21 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average and within trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Taiwan (35,900 HRW, 42,420 HRS), Dominican Republic (29,200 HRW, 14,400 HRS, 14,400 SRW), Nigeria (32,500 HRW), South Korea (6,330 HRW, 13,100 HRS, 12,780 white), and Italy (120 HRS, 31,500 durum).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 74 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 76 percent of exports committed by this date.
