According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through February 4, 2016 were 17.0 million metric tons (MMT), 18 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 20.7 MMT.

Net sales of 263,300 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up noticeably from the previous week and 6 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 150,000 to 300,000 MT. Increases were primarily Mexico (44,459 HRW, 11,608 HRS, 27,619 SRW, -10 white), Indonesia (65,000 HRW), Japan (411 HRW, 39,417 HRS, 618 white), Guatemala (16,554 HRW, 6,850 HRS, 7,250 white), Thailand (11,200 HRW, 18,000 white), the Philippines (27,500 white) and El Salvador (10,300 HRW, 5,800 HRS, 3,150 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 81 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 85 percent.
