According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through October 8, 2015 were 11.8 million metric tons (MMT), 18 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 14.4 MMT.

Net sales of 460,400 MT for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 60 percent from the previous week and 80 percent from the prior 4-week average and above trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Yemen (58,163 white), Japan (17,355 HRW, 26,690 HRS, 13,195 white), Nigeria (35,000 HRW, 6,000 SRW), and South Korea (16,100 HRW, 23,200 HRS, -900 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 24.5 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 48 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 58 percent.
