According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2014/15 marketing year, through January 22, 2015 were 19.9 million metric tons (MMT), 24 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 26.1 MMT.

Net sales of 544,400 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 19 percent from the previous week and 74 percent from the prior 4-week average and above trade expectations of 250,000 to 450,000 MT. Increases were primarily for the Philippines (900 HRW, 23,560 HRS, 71,000 white), Nigeria (60,000 HRW, -4,899 SRW), Thailand (6,000 HRW, 38,000 HRS, 16,000 white), Mexico (21,023 HRW, 421 HRS, 36,717 SRW), and Japan (25,240 HRW, 482 HRS, 4,067 white).

USDA forecasts 2014/15 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 80 percent of total projected exports, below the five-year average of 82 percent of exports committed by this date.
