According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through September 3, 2015 were 10.4 million metric tons (MMT), 15 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 12.1 MMT.

Net sales of 290,400 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up 5 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average and below trade expectations of 375,000 to 525,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Vietnam (10,160 HRW, 27,794 HRS, 110 SRW, 14,391 white), Mexico (20,012 HRW, 11,195 HRS, 16,167 SRW), Colombia (44,996 SRW), Italy (17,675 HRS, 24,000 durum), Japan (23,745 HRW, 865 HRS, 11,270 white), and Brazil (30,000 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 41 percent, on par with the 5-year average.
