According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through February 18, 2016 were 17.7 million metric tons (MMT), 17 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 21.3 MMT.

Net sales of 387,900 metric tons (MT) for delivery in marketing year 2015/16 were up 53 percent from the previous week, and 77 percent higher than the prior 4-week average. Sales were within trade expectations of 200,000 to 400,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Japan (43,462 HRW, 35,875 HRS, 18,675 white), China (57,500 HRS), Mexico (8,586 HRW, 10,931 HRS, 2,474 SRW), Colombia (13,500 HRW, 5,000 HRS), and Peru (16,800 SRW).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 21.1 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 84 percent of total projected exports, behind the 5-year average of 91 percent.
