According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2017/18 marketing year, through June 22, 2017 were 8.02 million metric tons (MMT), 5 percent higher than last year's year-to-date total of 7.63 MMT and 7 percent ahead of the 5-year average pace.

Net sales of 492,100 metric tons (MT) were reported for delivery in marketing year 2017/18. Sales were within trade expectations of 350,000 to 550,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Mexico (93,464 HRW, -5,836 HRS, 69,963 SRW), the Philippines (30,594 HRS, 67,047 white), Japan (10,120 HRW, 36,364 HRS, 24,912 white), and China (66,000 white).

USDA forecasts 2017/18 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 27.2 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 30 percent of total projected exports, ahead of the 5-year average of 29 percent.
