According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly Export Sales Report, total known outstanding sales and accumulated exports of all classes of wheat for the 2015/16 marketing year, through July 16, 2015 were 7 million metric tons (MMT), 22 percent lower than last year's year-to-date total of 8.9 MMT.

Net sales of 502,800 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up 73 percent from the previous week and were above trade expectations of 300,000 to 500,000 MT. Increases were primarily for Chile (10,555 HRW, 57,293 SRW), China (2,875 HRS, 57,785 SRW), the Philippines (9,900 HRW, 28,709 HRS, 18,591 white), Japan (13,175 HRW, 36,075 white), Mexico (2,858 HRW, 33,484 HRS, 9,240 SRW), and Nigeria (30,053 HRW, 10,000 HRS, 3,915 white).

USDA forecasts 2015/16 U.S. wheat exports (including donations) to reach 25.9 MMT. Commitments to date (of wheat and wheat products) are 27 percent of total projected exports, on par with the five-year average of exports committed by this date.
